First of all take a HDMI cable and connect to laptop and as well as to TV.The HDMI cable having same slots on both sides.Go to the Background>right click>choose the Screen Resolution>adjust it as you desired.Normally after connecting the HDMI cable to both device we select 1366*768 (recommended).
